Physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists are uniquely positioned to support survivors whose neurological symptoms may result from repeated assaults, strangulation, or head, neck, or facial trauma. There exists a significant practice gap in the use of multi-institutional data sharing and analysis between neurosurgery programs. The field of neurosurgery deals with relatively rare diseases and as such there is dearth of data in terms of both observational and interventional studies related to the specialty. The aim of the BIG 10 Neurosurgery Consortium meeting is to address these gaps by gathering speakers who have experience organizing and executing multi-institutional research. There will also be sessions whereby the group presents research questions, studies, and gets feedback on these in a panel-type format.
