Sarcoma is a rare cancer, comprising only 1% of adult malignancies, with over 100 distinct subtypes. Effective treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach, tailored to the specific subtype, with precise timing and modalities. While progress in research has been slow, leading to limited new treatments, recent advancements offer new hope. These include next-generation sequencing, biomarkers, proton therapy, and immunotherapy. However, physicians outside of large referral centers often face a gap in understanding and applying these cutting-edge treatments. We are privileged to welcome Dr. Silvia Stacchiotti, MD, a world-renowned expert in sarcoma, who will be joined by other leading specialists from the James Cancer Center to share their expertise on these emerging therapies and advancements.

Pathology Grand Rounds is a common education activity and is found in most pathology
departments around the country and is an important teaching tool. In many teaching institutions, grand rounds
are a weekly educational activity and a time-honored tradition. Each event will consist of a lecture by an invited
speaker either by The Ohio State University, or from an outside institute and will be of national repute in basic
science or in clinical/anatomic pathology. The most important objectives of this educational series in Pathology is
to educate faculty and trainees, showcase faculty role models, and promote a collegial atmosphere. The 50-
minute presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
