“Nursing Practice Matters: Laws of Nursing, Accountability, and Everyday Practice”
This Nursing Continuing Education activity is designed for 1.0 hours required to meet the Ohio Board of Nursing requirement for Category A (law and rules).
During this presentation, Steve Theohares, MSN, RN, Senior Risk Manager, will review the role of OSUWMC Risk Management in supporting patient safety and organizational risk mitigation, the purpose of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act (ORC/OAC 4723) and its relevance to nursing practice with a review of Ohio Board of Nursing roles & functions, considerations and approaches for timely escalation of patient care concerns, professional and legal expectations for digital communication, including email, texting, and social media use, and basic risk aware principles to everyday nursing practice and professional communication.
