Description
The Annual Neurogastroenterology and Motility Conference 2026 is designed to address critical professional practice gaps in the diagnosis, management, and interdisciplinary treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) motility and functional disorders. These gaps are well-documented in the literature and reflect real-world challenges in patient care.
Objectives
1. Describe the latest diagnostic and management strategies for esophageal, gastric, colorectal and small bowel motility disorders.
2. Identify surgical and non-surgical treatment options for esophageal disorders (e.g. achalasia), gastric disorders (e.g. gastroparesis) and small bowel disorders (e.g. feeding tubes)
3. Explain the role of dietary interventions, such as the Low FODMAP diet, in managing IBS and functional GI disorders.
4. Discuss the application of functional tests such as manometry, wireless pH testing, FLIP in the evaluation of GI motility disorders.
5. Recognize the importance of psychological and behavioral therapies in the treatment of functional GI disorders.
6. Demonstrate practical skills in esophageal and anorectal manometry, FLIP, and biofeedback therapy through hands-on sessions.
