About OSHN

OSHN offers a portfolio of services that allow our members to reduce operational cost, provide professional development for staff, and improve the quality of care in their community.

Our History

The Ohio State Health Network (OSHN) was founded in 1995 by Ohio State and 5 hospital members with a core mission of leveraging the Medical Center’s scale to create value for locally delivered care within the communities that Ohio’s regional hospitals serve. 31 years later, OSHN has remained true to that core mission while expanding its focus to include community health centers, hospices, and skilled nursing facilities and applied the benefits of scale beyond supplies to cybersecurity, biomedical engineering, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, continuing education, information technology hardware and software, employee benefits, and insurance.

Key to OSHN’s longevity is a strong commitment to doing what is best for patients as determined by the individual member, transparency of network operations and finances, member driven strategic and operating priorities, and a belief that strong collaboration supports independent organizations remaining independent.
